First Edition (1952); Complete set in 4 Volumes; Vol. I: The Pyramid Texts, 320 pp.; Vol. II: Commentary on Utterance I, Line Ia, to Utterance 486, Line 1045a-c, 526 pp.; Vol. III: Commentary on Utterance 487, Line 1046a to Utterance 714, Line 2217a-b, 953 pp.; Vol. IV: Excursuses, 327 pp. + 6 plates and a fold-out map of Egypt at rear; blue top stain; Overall, set is VERY GOOD gilt-stamped blue cloth boards in POOR dust jackets; all volumes have minor shelf wear and rubbing to edges and extrems, with slight softening to spine ends and corners, rubbing to boards and spine, toning to page margins/edges, some small stain spots to the fore edges, and faded gilt lettering; Vol. III has scuffing to the top spine end and one area of scuffing to the spine; Vol. II has moderate to heavy scuffing/balding areas to the boards and spine; else all volumes are clean and tight; dust jackets are all worn and tattered, with toning to spines; Vol. I DJ is tattered around the edges (possible biopredation), with the flaps separated; Vol. II DJ is missing the spine and front panel, although the rear panel and both flaps are present; Vol. III DJ has 3 large holes to the spine and holes along the front and rear flap folds (possibly from biopredation), although both panels are intact and rather clean; Vol. IV DJ is in the best condition of all 4 volumes, with some small holes missing to top spine end and along the flap folds; a nice copy of this extremely scarce set. ; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; var. pagination pages
